Hello friends and family,

As you know, I ran in the City of Oaks Marathon last year on my 25th birthday.   I have decided to run another marathon this year, the Marine Corps Marathon, on October 26th, 2008 in Washington, DC.  This time around I will be raising money for the National Lung Cancer Partnership. 

Lung cancer is known as the "silent killer" due to inadequate screening that leads to late detection.   Lung cancer kills 84% of newly diagnosed patients within 5 years!

Did you know that approx. 50% of people diagnosed with lung cancer have never smoked or are former smokers?  And what about the other 50% who do smoke?  They deserve our support as well.

I cannot believe I am about to run another 26.2 miles, but it is worth it because I am raising money for lung cancer research!
