Welcome to the TEAM page for STATE STREET SCHOOL.  We are located in Westerly Rhode Island.  Our team consists of Parents, Friends, Family and the Staff that works with children wtih Autism in our school District. 

We are participating in the Imagine Walk to raise funds for the Autism Project of Rhode Island. The organization continues to provide services to parents and children affected with ASD.  They have worked closely with the staff in our school the previous 2 years and we are trying to earn free training for school staff.

I am Maria, team captain for State Street School.  My daughter Kiera is 8 years old and has Autism (that is her in the picture).  She attends State Street School.  This past year she has made huge strides.  She is now able to communicate, initiate play and is beginning to make friends on her own.  She is doing fabulous but has a long way to go to reach her potential.  The Autism Project and their training of the school staff can help.  Your donations will make that possible.

Autism now affects 1 in 110 children.  If you don't know a child with Autism, chances are very good that you will in the future.
