I am excited to announce my participation in the Education Fund’s annual “Teach-A-Thon”. The Education Fund is an organization focused on bringing programs and funding to public schools in Miami-Dade County in order to support excellence in the area of education. Business professionals learn about the challenges of teaching, gather support pledges and experience the difficulties and rewards of a day in the classroom.  I am excited to support this program as a “Teacher Champion” in one of the local public schools.

 

This is a great way to gain a better understanding of what it takes to effectively teach a lesson and make an impact in the lives of our students. It also provides me with the opportunity to raise overall support for the entire school district, as well as individual support for my sponsoring teacher.

Our teachers and students need our support more than ever, and this program provides a great way for us to ensure teachers have the programs and tools needed to educate the next generation of leaders and business professionals. Difficult economic times are leading to greater budget cuts in the public school system, and we must do whatever it takes to ensure the quality of public education is not negatively impacted in any way.
