Hi!  I’m Marilynn Mee, the mid-day host on 96.5 WKLH, Milwaukee ’s Home of Classic Rock.  If you look at the picture, I’m the blonde one.  With me are Natalie, my eleven-year-old black lab mix and Geoffrey, my six year old basset hound who I named after my late uncle.  I also have a four-year-old tabby cat named Scout.  We’re here to ask you to please make a pledge for the HAWS 25th Anniversary Pet Walkathon.  We’d truly appreciate any donation you’re able to make.  My goal is to raise $1,965.00.

All of my pets were someone else’s cast-offs.  They were unwanted and unloved.  But – because of animal welfare facilities like HAWS and the hardworking, caring volunteers and staff who make shelters and rescues possible, Scout, Natalie and Geoffrey all got second chances…and I got three pets who give me joy and unconditional love every single day.

This is a great opportunity for you to make a difference; in animals’ lives and in people's lives.  Your donation, large or small, will not only help HAWS continue to help the animals, but help them to continue the great work they do in the community with humane education.  Teaching young kids the beauty of love and respect for animals can help to instill a sense of compassion that will carry over into other aspects of their lives as they grow up…and that makes our world a better place!
