The marathon is Sunday!!! It's finally time to race! Watch out all you track stars, I'm comming for you!
This year I will be running the Chicago Marathon for the American Red Cross. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated!! All the money donated will go directly to helping people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. I included the different ways the American Red Cross helps:
Disaster Relief
We respond to an average of 3 emergencies each day and provide food, clothing and immediate shelter FREE of charge to individuals affected by a disaster.
Health and Safety Education
Every year, over 400,000 people in the city and suburbs are trained in CPR, First Aid, AED, water safety, HIV/AIDS prevention and much more!
Armed Forces Emergency Services
In 2005, over 1,200 families with loves ones serving overseas were able to relay emergency messages through the Red Cross of Greater Chicago.
International Tracing
During times of war, famine and disaster, the Red Cross connects family members physically separated by tragedy.
Blood Services
The Red Cross is one of the leading providers of blood to our nation's hospitals.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! Thank you for helping me reach my goal!
