Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!  I will soon be "Running for the Cheetah" visiting Arizona (April 25, 2009) to benefit the Cheetah Conservation Fund and I ask for you to please help my fundraising for the benefit of these endangered cats.  Help me, help them!

The story of the cheetah's decline is, sadly, all too familiar.  In circumstances similar to those witnessed in the habitats of the gorilla, the wolf and the tiger, human population expansion and resulting persecution and exploitation has been largely responsible for the loss of 90 percent of the former Asian and African cheetah population in only the last 100 years. The last of the Asian cheetahs (perhaps now as few as 150 individuals) are barely holding on in Iran. The same is true in Egypt and many of the countries flanking the Sahara Desert, all former strongholds for the species until as recently as sixty years ago.  Even in Kenya and Tanzania, the cheetah population is now largely confined to national parks where it faces significant competition from other predators.  By 2025, these great cats may well be gone from the wild.  This just can't happen and I am going to do what I can to help stop it and would so appreciate your support ...
