Thank you for visiting the Pip's Team fundraising page!  Pip's Team was founded by the family of Phillip "Pip" Opstad:  Neil & Linda Opstad, Bill & Peggy Farmer, Tom & Marit Brock, and Charley & Amy Opstad.  We walk each year to remember Pip and help a good cause in memory of his thoughtfulness and compassion.   We also walk in memory of David Brock, Tom's older brother who died by suicide at the age of 24.  The 2009 team had over 20 walkers and raised more than $3,000!

Pip died by suicide in August, 2001 and his death came as a terrible shock to all of us.  We have joined together as Pip's Team to do what we can to prevent other families from having to endure the pain of a loved one's death by suicide.  Read more about the reasons people join in the annual Walk for Mental Health on the SAVE website.

The cost to participate in the walk is $15 per person and includes activities for children such as balloons and face painting. Free mental health resources and a SAVE store with logo products for purchase will be available. After completing the walk, each walker will be presented a yellow rose that symbolizes hope. Everyone is also invited to stay for a barbeque lunch provided by Culver’s for only $5 per person.  There will be live music from Dan Rodriguez before and after the Walk.
