I hope everyone is enjoying their time as summer is now in full swing! The baseball season is entering the final stretch, and everything is going well on this end. I'm here to tell you that I am playing again in the 3rd annual UMPS CARE Charities Golf Marathon on November 10th, 2010. We will again be playing at the beautiful Augusta Ranch Golf Course in Mesa, Arizona. For those of you last year who donated, I greatly appreciated your support, and so did every child who benefited from your generosity. For those first time donators, you are making a great step to help a lot of people. The proceeds raised from the event will fund the following youth and family care initiatives:

• The BLUE for Kids program that brings Build-A-Bear Workshop experiences to children coping with cancer and other serious illness;
• The BLUECrew Tickets program to provide memorable baseball experiences for children awaiting adoption and at-risk youth in mentoring programs;
• The All-Star Scholarship open to children adopted from foster care to provide increased opportunities for for advanced education; and
• The Family Care program to aid family members of former Major League Baseball umpires who have fallen on difficult financial times.
