Hey all,
It’s that time of year again…I’m going to take the Plunge..for Special Olympics Feb. 2, 2008!
I took up this cause 3 years ago when I met a very special friend through my colleague Mark Tate. His brother Jerry Wayne Tate, Jr., better known to family and friends as Jr. passed away Dec. 28, 2007 and my jump this year is dedicated especially to him. We will dearly miss him.
Jr. was one great and special guy who was born with Downs Syndrome and only expected to live 13 years. His family & friends were blessed to have him for 44 yrs. That’s amazing!!!
He always had a big smile and hug to greet you, enjoyed joking around and always showed unconditional love for all he met.
His passions were enjoying a Mountain Dew soda, Tic-Tac’s & Reece’s cups as well as assisting in a good game of poker. It doesn’t get any better than that!!!
I look forward to seeing everyone at the Polar Plunge this year and a big thank you for everyone that has sponsored & supported me in this endeavor.
As always…it’s for the kids and we’ll see ya there.
