HELLO AGAIN,

Hi, my name is Mark Latner, my wife is Diane, our son Ryan(in special olympics) and Kevin, our other son(a coach for special olympics).  I have been coaching special olympics for many years.  I have raised money with LETR(Law Enforcement Torch Run) for more then 9 years.   We raise money with FBI, USSS, ATF, CHP, PDC and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and Los Angeles County Fire Department.  They assist in Tip A Cops fundraisers, Polar Plunges, Golf Ball Drops, Chili Cookoffs, Torch Runs.

Yes I will be jumping into 'COLD' Hurricane Harbor wave pool 24 times come May 1 & 2, 2008.  Last year the water temperature was 59 degrees(cold for us in Calfornia) at Castaic Lake.

This will be the second year that we will be bringing awareness and raising funds for Special Olympics Santa Clarita.   We have over 535 athletes that depend on Law Enforcement Torch Run to raise funds for these athletes.  Last year we raised over $55,000.  with less then two dozen of us racing into the chilly waters 24 times. 

Please donate through your heart this year.  Funds raised will benefit Special Olympics Santa Clarita by providing them with much needed uniforms, transportation to year round tournaments, equipment for all 17 sports we offer year round for our wonderful athletes.

On February 4, 2008 I broke my ankle and due to doctor restrictions, I will not be able to actually run into the cold warm(I am sooo sad!) BUT I plan still raise funds for this much needed and close to my heart, worthy organization.
