SPECIAL OLYMPICS KANSAS

Saline County's Torch Run Fundraising Site

Saline County's Torch Run Fundraising Site

Many of you know me, but for those that do not, I am Mark Malick, the Administrative Lieutenant with the Saline County Sheriff's Office. I have been with the Sheriff's Office for 19 years, working in corrections, patrol, investigations, and for the past 8 years in administration.

I have participated in the Kansas Law Enforcement Torch run since 1987 and am currently a member of the KLETR Board of Directors, and was elected to State Director starting in January 2006. A good part of my interest in Special Olympics is derived from my brother-in-law Brad, who has trained and participated as an athlete in Special Olympics Kansas for the last 30 years. During my participation in this worthy cause, I do not know of an officer that has not benefited from their involvement with these athletes and Special Olympics. They have both made us better people, better officers, and proud messengers for this cause.

We are proud to announce that a new project is underway to raise funds and awareness to Special Olympics. The 2006 Torch Run Calendars are available. These calendars were developed by Carol Roker, a photographer from Salina. They are now being distributed throughout the State for a $15 donation that stays here in Kansas.

If you would like a calendar, please contact me or with your donation to this page, I will mail you one. Think about supplying them to your office staff for a Christmas Gift. Call me at 785-825-2202 or 785-826-6500. Special Olympics Kansas and the Kansas Law Enforcement Torch run thank you for your help. Sincerely, Lt. Mark Malick Saline County Sheriff's Office Salina, Kansas
