I am writing to thank you once again for your support of Covenant House Michigan with your donation towards my charity run of the New York City Marathon. 

As you are aware, the 2012 New York City Marathon was canceled just two days before the event due to the damage of hurricane Sandy. They had initially planned to run the marathon, and I was in line at the expo in New York to get my racing number when I learned of the change in plans.

While the whole group of Covenant House charity runners were disappointed after training for many months, we all gathered for a dinner in honor of all the support and hard work. Your donation was part of a $100,000 fund raising effort to serve youth and young adults in need.

While the marathon was canceled, it obviously does not diminish the need for the services and your support. Covenant House not only serves a crucial purpose, but does so with a unique and caring approach which is what makes it such an incredible cause to support.

I am still waiting final word how entry into the 2013 New York Marathon will be handled, but I do plan to train and run again.
