On Sunday, April 26, we walked 21 miles in 6 hours on Highway 1 as part of the Big Sur International Marathon.  We are dedicating this event to WriterCoach Connection and its parent organization, the Community Alliance for Learning, as they strive to maintain much-needed services in East Bay schools.

Mark has been working with WriterCoach Connection at nearby Longfellow Middle School in Berkeley for the past 2 years, as a volunteer and now a site coordinator.  He's seen the effects of one-on-one writer coaching first hand, and knows that the program is an extraordinarily cost effective way of helping kids do better in school as they gain confidence in their writing and reasoning skills.
