WriterCoach Connection recruits, trains, and coordinates community volunteers as classroom writing coaches. The coaches work one on one in English classes, helping students write and revise their class assignments. Coaches provide immediate and personal feedback to students during the writing process to encourage critical thinking and proficient writing.

A Read-and-Write-A-Thon !

To celebrate WriterCoach Connection's success and ensure its continued existence to benefit East Bay schoolchildren, we will be reading and writing for 10 hours on Saturday, June 6th in the Longfellow Middle School library.

• READING TABLE: Marathon 10-hour reading aloud of short stories, classic books, student writings and more...
• WRITING TABLE: Featuring fun writing games courtesy of writing teacher Annie Stine, all day long
• SILENT READING TABLE: Books for students to read on their own

You can help by donating a dollar amount per hour.  Since the event will last for 10 hours, your donation would be multiplied by ten.  If everyone donates $1 or $2 per hour ($10 or $20), our program will be able to continue in the 2009-10 school year.  If you can afford to give more ($50? $100? more?) we welcome your support and generosity!  We might even be able to expand this incredibly cost-effective program into more East Bay schools.
