The Runticky Donation Page!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
My name is Mark, but I have adopted the name Run Ticky as it describes my running method. To put my pain free running beliefs to the test I have decided to run across the state of Michigan. I plan to start from my current residence in White Lake, to my boyhood home in Norton Shores. The total distance is approximately 170 miles, which I plan to run in 72 hours. I will be leaving the evening of July 23, 2009 and arriving mid to late afternoon on July 26, 2009.
It seems breast cancer has touched almost everyone, and I am no exception, as my grandmother had breast cancer and my mother is a cancer survivor. It is my hope that through this run I can not only raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, but increase awareness that women who engage in regular, consistent exercise are less likely to develop breast cancer than women who are less active.
If you are woman with breasts, I recommend that you read the following article: http://www.webmd.com/breast-cancer/news/20080513/stay-fit-avoid-breast-cancer. I believe there is no better exercise than running. To learn to run without joint pain visit my site www.runticky.com.
Prevention of breast cancer through physical fitness is great but only a small part of the breast cancer picture. I believe that the good people at the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation are on the right track and deserve our support.
If I could prevent breast cancer by running the miles for you, I would do it.
Remember, at RunTicky.com we are about running pain free.
