Jim Ray Memorial Century HeartRide 2010
My dad was a big cyclist, and he died of heart disease. That's why we ride 100 miles in his name every year to raise money for the American Heart Association.
It's a simple story, and I can't believe that Steve Gronlund and I have been doing the Jim Ray Memorial Century HeartRide for a decade now. Thanks to many of you, we've raised more than $80,000. Thank you!
On Sunday, May 30, we rode to continue our effort to fight heart disease and stroke, which together claim more lives annually in the United States than any other cause of death.
This year, on our 10th anniversary, we were thrilled to have Victor Nuovo join us for the ride. We're getting older, so we needed to hang on the wheels of strong riders! (Our average speed was 16.2 miles/hour.)
On the same day, Emily ran a 5.8-mile segment of the Vermont City Marathon as a member of a kid's relay team. The team came in at 4 hours, beating lots of the adult relay teams.
The ride has been completed, but please still join us in this effort by sponsoring us with your tax-deductible donation to fight heart disease and stroke. You can donate on this site or send a check payable to the “American Heart Association.”
Thank you!
