Never done this before, but as my grandmother used to say when she showed me her college yearbooks... there's a first time for everything.
OK, Kevin, that was a weird beginning. What's this about your grandmother...? Wait a minute, the subject line said "Buy"...are you...? are you going to ask for ...money?! Oh, no. Oh no.
I'm writing to ask you to help celebrate the glory that is Mary-Arrchie Frickin Theatre Company. 25 years, folks. Everyone's worked there and everyone kinda takes for granted it's always gonna be there - I don't have to write the second part of that sentence . . . you can fill in the blank, right?
If it means this posting will be one line shorter and one line less cheesy, then yes, yes I can fill in the blank. Fox, please... just say it.
To me, Mary-Arrchie is one of the quintessential storefront theatre companies in Chicago. Every frickin show is risky. Every one is probably a story you don't know. But you go, we all go, because we can be certain they're willing to get dirty, they're willing to wallow in the muck, to challenge us and take us on a unique journey.
Wait, have you even worked there, Fox? Do you work anywhere anymore? Oh, I get it, you're gunning for work, so ...
I acted in a few shows at Mary-Arrchie in another decade. No, not that one, the one before that one. I got to return a couple seasons ago as a director for John Patrick Shanley's Beggars in the House of Plenty, which was----

OK. Yes. Bowling. Fundraiser. So, how this works is, you donate money for my bowling team, we bowl, with feeling, I drink, you drink, and Mary-Arrchie is able to do more plays.
