They say that donating blood saves lives and provides the gift of life to others. A seemingly simple donation, at a high school blood drive 11 years ago, began my family's journey with Wilson disease. It led us on a path to a diagnosis of WD for 2 of my children that saved their own lives!
Since becoming President of the Wilson Disease Association in 2003, I have met many other patients with severe disablilities, facing liver transplant and even death. That is why this cause is very near and dear to my heart. It is my passion that my family, friends, others, and their future generations do not suffer.
NOW, I am very excited that we are raising funds for the WDA right here in my hometown of Milwaukee... where it all began for us! I hope you will join me in making this a huge success. :-)))
