Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Most of you visiting this page know that I've been volunteering at MHS for the past 2.5 years and know how much the animals there mean to me. I wouldn't have my little Miss Quinn or my Madden if it wasn't for them!
I love going to the shelter. It's so rewarding for me. I spend around 16 hours there per week socializing and playing with the cats, keeping their cages comfortable, making sure they have clean litter, water, food, and a nice toy to play with. I make friends, and with any luck, I lose them to a new family in no time. I especially love working with the shy kitties; helping them see that the world isn't such a scary place and that with a little trust, their stay at the Humane Society can be a short one. This is actually how Miss Quinn got her home; she decided to stop hiding and essentially "picked" me (we don't choose our animals; our animals choose us! :D ). I feel honored to have her in my life every day now.
Apart from volunteering my time, I am also a donor. (See, I wouldn't ask you all to donate money if I didn't do it myself!!) I contribute not only money, but also try to bring in food for the pantry and toys for my little friends at least once a month.
Animals aren't disposable. I am lucky to volunteer at a place that gives homeless animals every opportunity to live and find love with a new family. So thank you for visiting and THANK YOU for donating. Every bit helps!
Please, if you know other animal lovers out there, feel free to pass along the link to this page. I have set a large fundraising target for myself, but this is a cause I truly believe in and I'm going to work hard to reach that goal. I also won't object to double donations. If you can donate now and find that in another 2 months you can donate a little more, that would be fantastic! The cats, dogs, bunnies, rats, ferrets, gerbils, mice, etc. etc... will gratefully appreciate, and benefit, from it!
