Welcome to the website for Team Briscoe&Mimzy for Delaware County SPCA's Annual Bark at the Park!
On October 17, we will be joining the one mile dog walk through Rose Tree Park to benefit the SPCA with our dogs, Briscoe and Mimzy.
Back in November of 2008, a family dropped two puppies off, a brother and sister from the same litter, at a shelter in North Carolina. They explained that their dog had just given birth to another litter of unwanted puppies. Naturally, the shelter offered their spay services, and the family declined leaving two pups in the outdoor-only kennels.
After a few weeks at the shelter, the employees became concerned that pups as young as "Cookie" and "Chip" would not survive the winter in an outdoor kennel, so the pups were loaded into a van of other young, elderly and otherwise disabled pups and brought to Pennsylvania to a Wet Nose Rescue Adoption Fair. It was at this fair that we met and instantly fell in love with the two pups on December 5, 2008.
Ever since, Briscoe and Mimzy have been loving life in their "forever home" in Havertown, PA with their rescue cat sisters, Fifi and Nermal. They love to play with their best friend and cousin Liza, chase the cats, and most of all, wrestle with each other in the backyard.
MaryBeth and Chris Spencer will be participating in this year's Bark in the Park and they need your help to raise funds for rescue programs just like the one that saved Briscoe and Mimzy. Donations of any size are much appreciated!
