Mary Beth Williams's (Team King) Fundraising Page
As all of you know, we've had a tough month with dogs at our house. But as sad as we are to have lost both King and Ellie, we're so thankful that we had the opportunity to have both of them in our lives. We had that opportunity because of the work that Henrico Humane Society does to rescue homeless animals, including animals like King, whose age and health problems made him unadoptable, but who so deserved to have a family and a safe place to live out his life. We gave King the place and the love, but Henrico Humane sponsored all his medical care.
Henrico Humane also put extraordinary efforts and money into trying to save Sweet Ellie, on the heels of catastrophic injuries and illnesses to 3 other HHS dogs. While Ellie's immune system was too compromised by the Rocky Mountain Spoted Fever to be saved, the care the others received saved their lives. However, it was very expensive, and has taken a toll on the funding available to help other homeless animals.
HHS is a 501(c)(3) that is completely supported by donations and fundraising efforts. To raise money to continue their mission, HHS will be hosting the 3rd Annual Bark in the Park on September 26th.
Please consider supporting me and my HHS alumni Daisy, Mulligan, and Bad Baby Girl Maggie, as we walk in memory of King and Ellie that day. Kaylan and Bailey Wood, daughters of dear friends Dickie and Jamie Wood, will also be walking with us to support the cause and show thier love for King. For those of you that don't know, BBG Maggie HATES the leash, so it will be more challenging than it sounds. She'll be manning the kissing booth as her encore that day though, so her poor battered ego should be soothed by all that attention.
Jeff and I feel very passionate about the work we do with HHS, and we hope you'll consider helping us help the animals.
