Many thanks to all who contributed and for all the good thoughts along the way! Heading to Falmouth soon. Here's to a good run and more importantly a safe return for all of the troops!
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!
On Sunday, August 15th, I'll be running in the Falmouth Road Race in support of the Falmouth Military Support Group.
Last year, I ran the race in honor of my son in law, Army Captain Alexander McKenney, who is now home after serving a year in Afghanistan. The very generous donations that we raised last year enabled the Support Group to send care packages, gifts, and letters to Alex during his deployment. He so appreciated having the constant communication and thoughtful packages throughout the year.
This year, I am running in honor of my nephew, Lance Corporal Colin Williams. Colin is a Marine, and is in Afghanistan now. I am so proud of Colin, and look forward to supporting him during his deployment as much as I can.
I am also proud to be running for LCPL. Mike Lindley, another Marine from Nantucket, also currently in Afghanistan. I graduated with Mike's aunt, and Mike was in my oldest son's class. It's a small world, and a small island. We have sons and daughters and nephews and neighbors in harms way. Supporting the FMSG is the best way that I know to support them.
The donations raised for the Falmouth Military Support Group will also go to the Continuing Education Scholarship Program for returning soldiers.
My goal this year is $2000, and I would love your help in blowing that goal out of the water!!! Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Thank you so much for your support!!
