Haiti - Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project
In November of 2011 I traveled to Haiti with a group of Habitat for Humanity of Omaha volunteers to build homes for people living in the area devastated by the earthquake. My husband Rodrigo and I have been long-time supporters of Habitat and I felt privileged to have the opportunity to participate in this project.
Our team is attempting to raise additional funds to support the ongoing work in Haiti as the need is still great - particularly where we worked in Léogâne, where nearly 80 to 90 percent of the buildings were damaged or destroyed and tens of thousands of people were left homeless or displaced.
Every dollar counts in our efforts to improve the lives of our neighbors in Haiti and I hope you will join us in supporting this effort by making a contribution.
There are two ways to donate. You can send a check to Habitat for Humanity of Omaha (2204 Ames Avenue, Omaha, NE 68110) indicating you want to support the work I did and Habitat's ongoing efforts in Haiti or you can donate through this website.
Many thanks for your thoughtful consideration and support.
