As you may know, I am running the Augusta Half Marathon on November 1, 2009. But I'm not doing it for my own health. I want to do it for a cause.

I decided upon Habitat For Humanity, because I personally have seen how it can impact the lives of those who need shelter.There is a great need for this for thousands of people. In the 33 years since Habitat has been founded, it has built over 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. Not too shabby huh?

With your donation, you can help another family. My goal is to raise $1,000 in one month so every little bit counts. If 100 people just donate $10, I'm there!

I've never run anything more than a 5K in my life so this is a big step for me. LIke anything challenging, the option of quitting is there. But if I know I'm running for an organization like Habitat, the families in need, and for those who donate to the cause, quitting will not be an option!
