Ride for Change Fundraising Page
Thank you so much to everyone who donated so far. Remember: no donation is too small! Barack Obama raised record funds in his campaign by people donating 5 or 10 dollars. Every penny counts!
Because this is just crazy enough that it might work.
For all the people who felt buoyed by the Obama victory and want to be there for the historic moment when we swear in our first black president, I invite all to come join me for the 262-mile journey from Raleigh all the way to our national capital. We can take a few days to make the ride manageable and enjoyable, spend a few days in DC for the festivities and then ride the train home (they allow bikes). The tentative schedule calls for leaving on January 15th, and arriving back in Raleigh on the 22nd to give us plenty of time.
I realize that not everyone will be able to join me on this ride, but we will be raising money for the International Rescue Committee, a charity that provides aid and relief to developing countries. So even if you can't ride, please consider donating.
This is an ever-evolving process, so please stay tuned to this group for updates and feel free to contact me personally with any questions.
Some fine print:
