Matt Johnson's SUPER Plunge Fundraising Page
As the bitter cold air indicates, it’s that time again…time for me to show my support of Special Olympics Illinois through the SUPER Plunge! Yes, you have to be a little crazy to jump into Lake Michigan in the middle of winter, but this extreme event allows me to raise much-needed money and awareness for the more than 25,000 athletes of Special Olympics Illinois. I’m definitely Freezin’ for a Reason!
For the third straight year, I’m going to take 24 icy dips into Lake Michigan (once an hour, every hour, for 24 hours straight) while camping out on Northwestern University’s North Beach! Check out the video below from last year’s Plunge, where we battled the elements! Did I mention it’s COLD??
Please help me reach my fundraising goal by making a donation online. Through generous donations like yours, we are changing the way that the world views individuals with intellectual disabilities. Any donation is welcome and appreciated!
Your support will help provide Special Olympics athletes the chance to participate in year-round sports training and competition…free of charge! These programs provide opportunities to build new skills, enhance self-esteem and develop social skills that lead to fuller, more independent lives for the athletes.
Again, a very warm-hearted “thank you” for your support in making a difference in the lives of the athletes! Think warm thoughts for me as February 25 approaches!
