As a staff member of Special Olympics Illinois, I have been able to see firsthand the incredible impact of the Law Enforcement Torch Run.  I have been inspired to join their efforts (for the second straight year!) and am collecting pledges from family, friends, co-workers and anyone else who wants to support the more than 22,000 athletes of Special Olympics Illinois. Your donations will help provide individuals with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in year-round sports training and competition...free of charge!

This year-round training and competition provides opportunities to build new skills, enhance self-esteem and develop social skills that lead to fuller, more independent lives for the athletes.

To reward your generosity, I'm going to take 24 icy dips into Lake Michigan (once an hour, every hour, for 24 hours straight) while camping out on Northwestern University's North Beach! Did I mention it's COLD??
