Hey Everyone!

First (and most importantly) I want to thank everyone for donating!  I really have the best friends and family in the world!  I made my goal of 1,500$ with one day to go!  The support really meant alot!

 

Now about the swim...I finished 4th out of 50, in a time of 54:28.  That is averaging 1:34 per 100 yards.  In practice, I can typically hold 1:20, however that is with flip turns and water I can actually see in!  That's why I wasn't super happy about the time, I really wanted to do better.  The water was about 78 degrees, so it was definitely warm enough, but it was super murky!  I literally could not see past my elbow while I swam, which caused me to swim about 5% further than the 2 miles.  I actually went out faster than I should have, and I was in second after the first half mile.  I let two people draft off of me between the .5 and 1 mile bouys, which was a pretty large tactical error.  After the 1 mile marker, I was in 4th.  I drafted off of the third place swimmer for a bit, but tried to make a move earlier than I should have.  I passed him for a bit, but he passed me after about 300 yards, and I just let him go.  After that I pretty much cruised.  I definitely let my stroke get choppy, so I was also not happy about that.  My shoulders and triceps were sore for the two days following the swim, and I could barely raise my arms afterwards! Next year I'll do better.
