This is Matthew's first time participating in Texas Big Beat, a charity drumming event that not only gathers hundreds of drummers to celebrate drumming and play together in a single venue, but also raises funds to support underprivileged, special needs and at-risk children to develop self-esteem and strong learning skills through music and educational programs. 

Matthew is hoping to raise $200 in support of Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation.  Please consider helping him drum up support for youth music with a tax-deductible donation.  Donations of any amount are appreciated.  Matthew would like to help other children find the rhythm in their lives. 

BigBeat 2009 will be held Sunday, November 1.  It will feature thousands of drummers jamming together in 11 different cities across the US and Canada. Billed as the world’s largest multi-city drum set event, last year’s Big Beat drew 1,286 drummers and about 4,000 spectators in nine cities, raised more than $45,000 for music and other charities and collected 7,000 pounds of food for the needy.
