Welcome!  You've arrived at Matt's Team World Vision page.

This fall, I am running in the Chicago Marathon with a team of dedicated athletes and athlete wanna-bes (that's my category) from Shelter Rock Church.

Together we are seeking to raise support, awareness and funds for those who suffer each day from poverty.  We are hoping to imitate Jesus, who gave up his life to serve "the least of these."  For us, training for the run is a way to fight -- in a physical, tangible way -- the effects of hunger and disease around the world.

But you play a part too.  I made this site so that you would learn about the marathon and partner with me in prayer and the raising of funds.  So look around, learn about Team World Vision, and donate if you can.

World Vision works to tackle the root causes of poverty by working with children, families, and their communities to provide things like: clean water, health care, nutritious food, education, and economic opportunities.
