This year, I'm riding for Bikes Not Bombs. This is a fantastic organization; this year two of my students completed the Earn-a-Bike program where they learned bike maintenance, road safety, leadership, and volunteered to prepare donated bikes to be shipped overseas.
Bikes Not Bombs is a great example of an organization that has both local and global impact, and where a few resources go a long way, touching the lives of many.
Two years ago, through your generosity I raised $750. This year, I want to see how high we can go; I'm teaming up with Mike Harris, another Boston Public Schools teacher, and together our goal is $1400. Please feel free to give whatever you can; may I suggest a dollar a mile, at $62?
