Hello all!
Thank you so much for taking the time to look at this. I know your time and funds are precious so please know how much a donation means to me.
Team RWB is an awesome organization trying their best to help our returning brothers and sisters in arms. They do so through endurance sports and by fostering relationships that are so valuable for our warriors as they hang up their boots and get back to their lives. Take a look at the tab above or visit teamrwb.org for more info.
As a thank you for your donation you will get to enjoy as I suffer through the 70.3 miles in Boise on June 9th! In case your are unfamiliar with the Ironman 70.3 triathlon format it includes a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride, topped of by a half marathon of 13.1 miles. This will be my first attempt at a half Ironman event and I will be participating in Team RWB uniform to raise awareness to their cause. I hear the first 70 miles are not bad but the last .3 will get ya! Here is the race website in case you want some more info on the event ironmanboise.com
Again thank you for your time, please join me by supporting this awesome organization. A donation of any amount would be hugely appreciated.
UPDATE: (11 June)
What a day, when we got to the resevoir we were staring at 43 deg air temp, 56 deg water temp, 20-25 mph of wind, and spots of snow were observed on the bike course. A random cold front blew through overnight. The event staff were forced to cut the bike course down to 15 miles for safety reasons. So I was denied the full 70.3 distance but it was still a brutal event. Pretty much hypothermic leaving the water, a superfast bike ride and a tough run. TO reach my goal of the 70.3 distance I have signed up for the Folsom long course triathlon on Aug 19th, so the training continues. I am going to leave this site open for donations until then, so please continue to pass this around. Again, thank you all so much for looking at this and helping out Team RWB!
Take care,
Matt
