Kids Connect is a program entirely funded by your generous donations to provide children at Kosair Children’s Hospital the use of an iPad2 while receiving treatment.

 

The idea for this program came from my son Matthew while he was getting treatment for Leukemia. He played games, watched movies and most importantly made video calls to his cousins and his grandparents on an iPad.

 

Since Kosair Children’s Hospital serves every county in Kentucky, families sometimes are hours from home and siblings typically are not allowed to visit because of possibility of passing germs and viruses.

 

This is where Kids Connect comes in! Not only can kids video-call to their families via Skype and FaceTime, but can listen to their favorite music, watch their favorite movies and TV shows, play games and more. Kosair’s Child Life specialists will also be using the iPad’s for storytelling, art and patient education.

 

We will purchase the first batch of iPad’s for children being treated in the Cancer Care and Renal Center (7 West,) but it is our hope to provide every child at the hospital with one while they are being treated.
