iPad Project
So many people love to use their iPhones and now iPads for home, school, and office.
But few people know that the iPad is a great tool for therapy to help children with special needs.
* There are apps to help an Occupational Therapist teach handwriting.
* For kids who are nonverbal there are apps where you can press a symbol or icon and the iPad "speaks" for you.
* You can even type out sentences.
* And what better way to motivate a child to walk than a therapist holding an ipad at the other end of the hall just waiting for the child to press a button and play their favorite music?
You'd be amazed how quickly a kid picks up that they're pronouncing a word wrong once they hear TomCat repeat what they say back to them incorrectly.
The uses are endless - and the power of the iPad is that it brings all the functions of the internet right to the hands of the therapist. The result - lives are changed and the hidden "ability" in each child is discovered.
Check out the video below to see what we mean.
We need your help. We want an iPad in the hands of each of our 20 thearpists. That means about $700 each for the iPad and related stuff.
Please make a safe and secure donation today. You can sponsor a full iPad if you'd like, or make a small donation that we can pool together with others. Our goal is $14,000 and every gift - no matter how large or small - will make a huge difference.
