Hello everyone!!

This year, I have joined fellow Tarheel students in taking a 24-hour stand at the UNC Dance Marathon (uncmarathon.org) benefitting the N.C. Children's Hospital. All proceeds go to the children and thier families that are at the hospital here in Chapel Hill, NC.

The first marathon began with one fund called For the Kids Fund. This money goes directly to the patients and families; this provides for expenses not covered by insurance or Medicaid that families may not otherwise be able to afford. In turn, families are able to spend more time and energy caring for their children. Since then, we have expanded to allow grants for programs including Healthy Steps, Parents Night Out, support for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, a Music Therapy Program, and assistance with the Newborn Critical Care Center.

I hope that you will help me in raising money for the marathon, which will take place February 18! I am very excited to be working on this year-long fundraiser at school. It is the largest student-run fundraiser on campus and has been a wonderful  part of my time at UNC. Any amount is terrific and adds up very quickly.  Each donation helps with the little things such as parking and hot meals and also bigger projects such as paying bills and grants for the various programs.  Thank you for your time and feel free to contact me with any questions!
