Since you made it to this page, you know that Dave and Meg are getting hitched this summer.  We've already got too much stuff, so in lieu of traditional wedding gifts, we ask that you donate our gift money to somebody more deserving!  We've set up accounts for three charities.  Two are well-known and well-regarded organizations, working with the poor in the US and abroad--Habitat for Humanity and Oxfam International.  The other is a local conservation organization--the Eno River Association--who has been responsible for the creation of our local Eno River State Park, which happens to be where Dave proposed!  

This is the page for donating to Habitat for Humanity of Durham.  Habitat is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization that rehabs and builds simple, affordable, sustainable houses in partnership with those who need them.  In addition to a down payment and monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor (sweat equity) into building their Habitat house and the houses of others. Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with affordable loans. The homeowners’ monthly mortgage payments are used to build still more Habitat houses.

Habitat for Humanity has earned a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator.
