Megan in Africa! AYO 2009
Hi everybody! Or, as they'd say in South Africa, sanibonani!
My name is Megan Riley and this is my page for fundraising for the program African Youth Outreach (AYO).
As many of my friends and family know, this summer I'll be spending about three weeks in South Africa for the AYO program. I'll be traveling along with three other volunteers to Ingwavuma which, for those of you not up-to-date on your South African geography, is in the very eastern part of the country. We'll be volunteering at Ingwavuma Orphan Care, where we'll lead workshops about HIV/AIDS and many other topics.
I'm hoping that after we're done the children there will have a better understanding about the these issues and will go on to lead healthier lives. Towards that end, I am attempting to raise some money for these orphan camps.
In an area this poor it takes very little money to make a big difference. If everyone who checks out this page could just donate $5 or $10, it would make a huge impact.
If you want to learn more about my training and my trip, you can follow my adventure in my blog at http://crayolainafrica.blogspot.com.
If you want to learn more about AYO, you can visit their website here.
If you want to contact me with any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at mariley2@wisc.edu.
I hope you'll find it in yourself to donate some money to help me and this organization, no matter how small the amount.
Ngiyabonga! (Thank you!)
