Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page. I am running the 2009 Boston Marathon on the MassGeneral Cystic Fibrosis Marathon Team. Our team is raising money to support patient care in the Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Clinic at MGH.

Two of my wonderful students, Cate & Laura, have Cystic Fibrosis and show amazing strength and courage everyday to fight this disease. I am running on behalf of them to raise money for CF research and to show my appreciation for these amazing girls.

Last year my Dad ran the Boston Marathon for the same cause and did an great job. As my family and I waited at mile 20 to cheer him on, he arrived looking pretty tired and not too enthusiastic about heartbreak hill. When he asked me to help him finish the last 6 miles I agreed on one condition- he would buy me a new outfit, since I was wearing jeans! Although that last part of the race was easy for me not having run 20 miles before hand, the experience was unbelievable. Watching not only the support from spectactors, but also the support from other runners who encourage everyone to cross the finish line, was amazing. I decided then that this would be something I would conquer next year.

Any donation is greatly appreciated. Every dollar helps! Check back soon for updates!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!

Thank you for your support!!!

Training Log:

Since I was never really a runner before this, training has been hard, but also exciting! I started off at 3 miles and slowly worked my way up over the summer. Running on the ocean in Ogunquit, ME made it a lot easier than now with the frigid weather.

So far training has been going well, I successfully completed 12 miles on Sunday (2/1) in the Newton/Boston area. Although the last couple of miles were tough, I got through it...thanks to my running buddy Meghan Hayes!

This Sunday is 13 miles, then a little break for a few days!

UPDATE: With the help of Dad, I ran 14 miles yesterday (2/21). My legs were killing me! I'm hoping to train up to 20 miles before the big day. Only 56 more days! Thank you everyone for your support!

UPDATE: 3/15- today was 16 miles. I managed to run the entire way without stopping, which actually seemed to hurt my legs less than when I take a break and walk. I'm glad training is coming to an end pretty soon, Dad and I are definitely getting tired! Thank you again to everyone who has helped support me so far, it is greatly appreciated!!

UPDATE: Yesterday (3/29) Dad and I conquered hills. We only ran 6 miles, but we did 3 good, long inclines. Happily I am not too sore today! This Sunday is 18 miles!

UPDATE: Dad and I ran 20 miles yesterday (4/5). It was a really tough course, lots of hills. There were defintely times neither one of us thought we would make it!! Hopefully it prepared us for all the hills in Boston. Only two weeks away!!!
