Our dear friend John Moreland is battling pancreatic cancer.  It is hard to believe that a person so accomplished, so active, so full of life and love can be taken down so completely in such a short time.  But that is the nature of pancreatic cancer, one of the nastiest cancers around. That is why he has approved this page to raise funds for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

John has been a father, a husband, a college professor, a CEO of software companies, the head of a bicycle manufacturer, a runner, a mentor, an investment manager, and a community volunteer. He has been a seeker of truth, a lover of music, food and life. He has lived every moment as full as one possibly could. He has been unselfish in counseling young people through challenging times. He never shrunk from a challenge.

But this was a challenge he could not beat. And while he is currently under hospice care in his home, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters, he has ended chemo and expects that his energy will only carry him a few more weeks. If you read the accounts on pancan.org you will understand how swift and devastating this disease can be.  Please feel moved to contribute to this cause, in the memory of John Moreland and those who may in the future be helped by your generosity.

In his final days, John will be profoundly gratified to see your contributions. Thank you.
