Thank you for visiting our Personal Fundraising Page. Our son, Matthew, is 2 1/2 years old.  He was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in August 2009. Duchenne is a fatal, incurable genetic disorder, but CureDuchenne is one of the great organizations dedicated to finding a treatment or cure. Currently, there are several drugs being tested, and we are cautiously optimistic that a treatment will be available within the next few years. On June 19, 2010 we will be a part of the Climb to Cure Duchenne national event. Here in East Tennessee, we will be climbing Tennessee's highest peak, Clingman's Dome (6,643 ft high).
