Dear Friends & Family,
I recently found out that Sat. Oct. 22, 2011 is "National Make a Difference Day"!.I never even knew there WAS such a day. :) Anyway, in order to celebrate, I am excited & proud to be joining my daughter Carly's newly established Hillsborough High School Habitat for Humanity Build Team! She started a club at her school.. We will all be participating in the First Ever Family Build Day!. Along with other Habitat volunteers, we will be helping to build a modest home for a hard-working, low-income family in our region.
Decent, affordable housing is scarce in Somerset and Hunterdon counties, forcing many low-income families to live in overcrowded, unsafe conditions. The Habitat program challenges volunteers to build a better future for the children of central New Jersey by addressing the problem of substandard housing. By participating , we will be giving other women and their families a “hand up” by helping them to build a home of their own.
With your help, I hope to make a real difference in the lives of a local family. The Women Build Team’s goal is $100,000. Any pledge amount you can offer will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance for your support. I knew I could count on you!
Love,
Melissa
