On June 26th, 2011 I will embark on a 6 day, 155 mile self-supported race through the Gobi Desert in Western China.  The Gobi Desert is one of the hottest and driest deserts on earth. Ironically I will be running in one of the driest places on earth to help raise money for clean water.

Unsafe drinking water is the world's leading cause of sickness and death. I personally witnessed and experienced the harmful effects of unsafe drinking water during the 2 1/2 years I served in the Peace Corps in West Africa. This experience has motivated me to help solve the worldwide problem of unsafe drinking water.

The Blue Planet Network's mission is to bring the global community together to provide safe drinking water to the billion people around the world in need. Since 2004, the Blue Planet Network has implemented sustainable water projects in more than 1000 communities in 23 countries impacting hundreds of thousands of lives. Just $30 provides one person with a lifetime of safe drinking water, and every little bit helps.
