As most of you know by now I am getting ready to leave to run the Paris, France marathon, where I will run 26.2 miles on April 11th, 2010 for Logan's Run Rescue. This will be my 5th marathon on my 50th birthday. I have run past marathons to raise money for LLS, American Heart Association and Team Autism.
Having moved from the flat surfaces of Florida to Hills of Murphy, NC this year has certainly made my training more challenging.
After much research and extensive searching I came to the decision that I would fundraise for an organization dedicated to the rescue of the abused and abandoned animals and the education to my community where it is so sorely needed. I found a fantastic organization called “Logan’s run rescue". Please visit their website at www.logansrunrescue.com to learn more about all the success they have had over the past year. They have placed over 175 animals in good homes in that short period of time.
Their mission is to give humane care and rescue to abandoned animals and to promote spay and neutering of pets; (all the animals they rescue go straight to foster homes, no cages and NO KILL policy). Their plan includes reducing over-population while adopting a commitment to change the community's awareness and educate the public in improving the welfare of companion pets.
I hope you will join me in my journey to help these animals that cannot help themselves and who did not choose the path they have found themselves on.
