On April 16th, 2005 my life changed forever as Reid R. Sacco took his last breath.  Reid was my cousin but given our closeness in age (only 5 months apart) and similar personalities, we were much closer than cousins and more like brother and sister.  Ever since that day, my world has never been the same.  Needless to say, I am determined do something and to help find a cure for this awful disease.  Cancer has become far to common and has affected all of us in some way or another.  With that said, it is time that we all join together and take action to prevent other families from experiencing the pain of watching a loved one suffer and other young adults like Reid from living longer prosperous lives. 
 

Reid's Ride is a 28 mile bike-a-thon and is truly great way to help eliminate this disease that has deeply affected my family and millions of others.  This year marks the 6th Annual Reid's Ride.  This year is going to be bigger than ever and I would love for your to be part of it.  I asking you to do one of two things....If you are around, I would love for you to join me and bike 28 miles for eliminating cancer on July 18th (It's completely doable and a really fun day!  Team Babo Stride is the current championship team for money raised and I am determined to help keep that title!)...if biking just isn't your thing, I ask that you sponsor me and help me reach my goal of raising $5,000....every dollar helps and I cannot even tell you how much your generosity means to me.  I understand we are in a tough financial time but please take a minute to think about how much you spend each week on coffee or each weekend on drinking and going out and please make a small contribution for this worthy cause.  Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. Finally, I want to give you a little more information about my cousin and why this ride means so much to me....Reid was an amazing person.  He was so strong, so selfless, so inspirational, so smart and so funny.  I can still hear his little sarcastic remarks and his laughter.  This ride signifies just one of the ways his memory will continue to live on with me forever.  After Reid was diagnosed with cancer at the end of his senior year of high school, he talked about wanting to do a ride for cancer research.  After Reid passed away just two short years after being diagnosed, my Aunt and Uncle organized the first annual Reid's Ride.  Each year we ride in his honor and celebrate his birthday in the way which he always wanted to.....all while raising money for a great cause!
