In Memory of Patches & Fluffy
I met Patches & Fluffy when they were 10 years old. They were sisters and had been together since birth.
They came to a shelter scared, but in good physical shape. However, after spending 3 weeks surrounded by other cats, they contracted serious illnesses. Patches' eyes were so sick that they were glued together by the discharge and she sat petrified in the back of her cage because she couldn't open her eyes. Fluffy was so nauseous she could hardly move.
I immediately brought them home to foster them. After some TLC, they recovered and I was able to find them a seemingly good home. Unfortunately, because of their age and breed, they needed daily care and the family was not up to the commitment. So they came to their final home with me.
Patch & Fluf lived with me for 6 months and enjoyed an oceanfront view the whole time. They played with every toy they could find - their favorite was rolled up balls of hershey kiss wrappers! I was devastated when it was time to say good-bye, but I made sure they stayed together - their ashes and their ink paw prints are the first things I see each morning.
On October 4th, I will walk in loving memory of Patches & Fluffy. I hope you will join me in honoring these little angels by donating to support the animals who are still with us and waiting for homes.
