About Us: In 1993, United States Veterans Initiative (U.S.VETS) opened its first facility, Westside Residence Hall, in Inglewood, California. Five formerly homeless veterans, referred by the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center, slept at our facility the first night. By the end of the first year, 125 veterans called Westside Residence Hall home. Today, U.S.VETS provides services to over 2,000 each day in five states and the District of Columbia. U.S. VETS has become a recognized leader in the field of service delivery to veterans and the largest non-profit provider of veteran housing programs in the country. Our Mission The successful transition of military veterans and their families through the provision of housing, counseling, career development and comprehensive support.
