Michael Bell's Fundraising Page
Dear Friends:
Having spent a career in public education, teaching may not be new to me, but teaching Kindergarten? The mere thought of it gives me the jitters.
Well, friends, my fears are just about to come true! During the week of November 15th, I will be part of The Education Fund’s Teach-A-Thon, a walk-a-thon with a twist. I get to walk in the shoes of Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Janice Pacheco, at Miami Springs Elementary School.
Please sponsor me! I just signed-up for on of the most difficult teaching assignments I have every had in my career – I’m going to teach Kindergarten!
Why am I doing this? (1) Because I'm insane; and (2) Because this year is The Education Fund's 25th Anniversary of helping public school teachers in our community.
With your sponsorship, public school teachers will:
- Get the supplies they need for their students,
- Learn methods that work from their colleagues,
- And, even receive support for field trips, art projects, and hands-on learning that truly open the minds of our children.
These experiences, plus the supplies to make them happen, have almost disappeared due to budget cuts and other obstacles, but you can help. Visit http://www.educationfund.org/ to learn more about the work of The Education Fund.
Make a tax-deductible contribution to The Education Fund through the Teach-A-Thon. You’ll not only support our teachers, but also invest in our children’s future. In addition, if you donate $25 or more you’ll receive an annual membership to The Education Fund. Your contribution may be made directly through this page or offline, if you prefer.
Thank you, in advance, for supporting my volunteer efforts. I promise to let you know if I survive my day in the classroom.
Sincerely,
Michael Bell
P.S. No amount is too little – it’s the support that counts!
