Michael Cohen's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page.
In December 1999, Jamie's mom, Marsha Serfer, was diagnosed with cancer and was given six months to live. She disagreed with the prognosis. She fought. And she kicked the crap out of cancer for nearly three more years.
Shortly after Marsha was diagnosed, Alex Scott, the most courageous and selfless little girl ever to step foot on this planet, opened a lemonade stand in her front yard in an amazing effort to raise money to fight the same disease.
To commemorate Marsha's fight and to further Alex's cause, on October 10, 2009, I am going to run the Baltimore Half Marathon and ask that you consider making a donation to the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. On a personal note, this October date is particularly special as it falls within days of Marsha's passing seven years ago and is during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
In January 2007, I asked many of you to support my efforts to raise money for the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation in Marsha's name. My goal was to raise $3,000. The responses I received from friends and family was, in a word, astounding. As a result of everyone's overwhelming and humbling generosity, we were able to raise in excess of $13,000. It's been over two years and I'd like to ask all of you, once again, to consider helping me help others put an end to childhood cancer.
I'm hoping that each and every one of you will help me pay tribute to Marsha and Alex and will make a donation to the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
