HELP ME RAISE MONEY FOR HOWARD DENTAL
Last summer, I took advantage of my unemployment and checked something off of life's to-do list by running my first marathon in San Francisco on July 26. I managed to do pretty well, finishing in 3:09:54, which qualified me for the Boston Marathon with a mere 65 seconds to spare.
In the process, I also managed to raise over $2,400 for Howard Dental Center, a nonprofit organization in which I strongly believe. Howard Dental is a nationally-recognized provider of comprehensive and integrated oral health care to people living with HIV/AIDS. For patients who are HIV+, regular oral health appointments can make a huge difference. Many times, Howard Dental is able to prevent a patient from moving to an AIDS diagnosis through simple oral health care measures.
So it's only natural to take advantage of my participation in the Boston Marathon experience to again raise some money for Howard Dental. The Boston Marathon is on April 19, and I started training for it at the beginning of January. As of mid-March, I've logged 247 training miles so far and have just under 100 to go. Training in Avon, CO at around 7,400 feet during the winter has not been easy or always fun, but I'm doing it gladly knowing that it will help Howard Dental continue to fulfill its mission.
I have been a member of Howard Dental's board of directors for almost two years now, and I can say with conviction that it truly is an important and outstanding organization providing critical services to people afflicted with a devastating disease. I'm very proud to be a part of Howard Dental and of the quality and efficiency of its work. Howard Dental provided services to over 450 patients last year. For every $1 donated to the organization, Howard Dental produces $1.13 in dental services.
Please support me and my effort to raise money for Howard Dental by donating today.
Many thanks for your support.
