I will be participating in thos year's walk in honor of my Uncle Nino. A man who always had a smile on his face when he saw his family. I will never forget never being able to frown when I heard his laugh.
He left us on July 17, 2009. The loss of Nino has left an empty space in our family and only can be dulled (hopefully) with time.
Our family is participating in the Samaritans 5K walk this October 3rd and we've started "Nino's Team". Your support will mean the world to us. We need to help the Samaritans on their quest for funding to continue their Suicide Survivor Support Groups (which some of our family attends twice a month) and most importantly, Suicide Prevention. It's the Samaritans walk/run for Someone Else's Life.
For those of you who knew Nino or not and would like to join us on October 3rd, you can register at the Samaritin website. The registration fee is $20.00 and you would simply pick "Nino's Team" from the drop down team menu. We hope to have the largest walking team the Samaritans have seen to date, for Nino.
